JACK BENNY PROGRAM (10-1-44) Jack’s first program for a new sponsor, Lucky Strike. Fred Allen pops in to join in the fun with Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson, Phil Harris. TEXACO STAR THEATRE (5-10-42) Fred Allen stars with singer Kenny Baker, Portland Hoffa, Minerva Pious, Alan Reed, John Brown, announcers Jimmy Wallington and Larry Elliott, Al Goodman and his orchestra, and guest actress Marlene Dietrich. Marlene and Fred do a sketch about radio sound effects; the Texaco Workshop Players present a “thundering epic about the Frozen North.” Texaco Gasoline, CBS. (16:05; 14:10; 15:30; 13:55)
JACK BENNY PROGRAM (2-22-53) Broadcasting from the American Legion Hall in Palm Springs, California, Jack welcomes guest Bing Crosby who subs for Dennis. Rochester, Mel Blanc, Mary Livingstone, Bob Crosby and his orchestra. Cast does Bing’s life story, “Call Me Lucky” and the Crosby brothers sing “Way Back Home.” AFRS Rebroadcast. (11 :30; 11:30)
