He began his colorful career in 1937 as a copyboy at the Chicago Evening American and, in 1964 became News Director for WBBM-TV in Chicago. When WBBM Radio switched to an all-news format in 1968, he began doing regular commentaries and news analysis and soon became Political Editor for the station. We spoke in preparation for the book “WBBM Radio, Yesterday and Today.”
