Ken Roberts

One of radio’s premier announcers, he began his career in the mid-1920s and joined the CBS announcing staff in 1931. He worked on The Shadow, Fred Allen, Quick as a Flash, It Pays to Be Ignorant, Crime Doctor and scores of other programs. He was born February 12, 1910 and was 88 at the time of our conversation at the Friends of Old Time Radio convention in Newark, New Jersey. He died June 19, 2009 at age 99.
