Morey Amsterdam

He did some radio work, including starring in his own program in the 1948-49 season, but he’s best known as a comedy writer and one of the stars of TV’s Dick Van Dyke Show. He was born December 14, 1912 and was 65 when we met at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare where he was performing at the Blue Max night club.  He died October 27, 1996 at age 84.

  1. I found this interview bringing back memories about the Dick Van Dyke show and Morey’s place on it. Who can forget Morey referring to his wife Bubbles. Although not mentioned on the interview it also brought back memories of the American International film that he was in Beach Party. It wasn’t great but it was fun. As Bob Hope might say “thanks for the memories”.
