Ken Carpenter

One of radio’s foremost and best-known announcers for nearly 40 years, he was closely associated with Bing Crosby’s programs. He was born August 21, 1900 and was 74 at the time of our conversation in his Brentwood, California home. He died October 16, 1984 at age 84.

    Wonderful site…thrilled to hear Hal Perry and the great Jim Jordan…Ken Carpenter was one of my favorite announcers…loved him on the Great Gildersleeve.

  2. Just finding out about Ken Carpenter. Moments after discovering he was my 6th cousin 2x removed, I discovered he was a great announcer from the Golden Age of Radio. If only I had those pipes when I was in radio.
