Actor who worked in the theatre, on radio and on the screen with Orson Welles, had a long career as a star of motion pictures.  He was born May 15, 1905 and was 66 when we met backstage after an opening night performance at the Drury Lane Theatre in Suburban Chicago.  He died February 6, 1994 at age  89.
