Don Gordon

Staff announcer who worked at NBC, CBS and WGN in Chicago. He announced the Tom Mix Ralston Straight-Shooters program and many other Windy City-originated shows such as Captain Midnight, Ma Perkins and The Right to Happiness. He came to our WLTD studio in Evanston, Illinois during a live broadcast of Those Were The Days to talk about his career, which included ten years (1942-1952) announcing the Tom Mix program.

I grew up in the 40’s and listened to most of the radio shows then.For sure Tom Mix and the Ralston Straight Shooters with Curley Bradley as Tom Mix.I got to meet Curley Bradley back in the early 80’s when he was still with us, after he did the update on the 50th Anniversary of (TOM MIX AND THE RALSTON STRAIGHT SHOOTERS).What a gifted man he was to meet.I wish he could have stay with us much longer.

    I also enjoyed the interview with Don Gordon, what a voice he also had a real RADIO voice as Curley Bradley did.
