Busy Chicago radio actor in the 1930s and ‘40s who had many roles, including that of Captain Midnight’s sidekick mechanic, Ichabod Mudd. He was born February 14, 1907 and was 84 at the time of our conversation poolside at the Sportsmen’s Lodge in Studio City, California. He died August 4, 1997 at age 90.

My Grandfather. I can remember watching a show and there he would be. General Hospital, Movies, even a mini series “Hotel”. He use to talk about being a clown on TV in Chicago. I still have photos of him in clown attire. So very nice to hear his voice. He married my Grandmother Violet May Hern, who also acted and sang, more on stage than film.
