He retired from WBBM Chicago in 1985 after 40 years with the station. He was hired as an apprentice electrician in the Wrigley Building studios of the station. We spoke in preparation for the book, “WBBM Radio, Yesterday and Today.”  He told us that he became Facilities Manager for the station and oversaw the move to new studios at the former Chicago Arena and described the facilities at both the Wrigley Building and at McClurg Court and talked extensively of the station’s founder, H. Leslie Atlass, who hired him.
