He joined WBBM Newsradio, Chicago in February, 1969. His first assignment was to co-anchor the news with longtime announcer-personality Mal Bellairs. He became a general assignment reporter and eventually was the station’s restaurant critic and movie and theatre reviewer. He describes his most traumatic assignment and talks about some WBBM “bloopers.” We spoke in preparation for the book, “WBBM Radio, Yesterday and Today.” This conversation was later broadcast on WBBM’s Radio Classics.
