Famous for his collection of vintage radio receivers as well as deep dish pizza, Burt shared his radio collection with visitors to his pizza restaurant in Morton Grove. On the beginning of the sixth year of Those Were The Days, Burt visited our remote broadcast from the lobby of North West Federal Savings in Chicago to talk about his love of old time radio and the “magic boxes” that brought them to us in the good old days. He was born July 7, 1937 and was 36 at the time of our conversation. He died April 30, 2016 at age 78.
