The versatile actor-producer-director appeared as an actor all over the radio dial. He was the Tout on The Jack Benny Program and was heard frequently on The Adventures of Maisie, A Day in the Life of Dennis Day, The Damon Runyon Theater and with Judy Canova, Bob Hope, Burns and Allen and others. He was born February 22, 1907 and was 77 at the time of our conversation in his Beverly Hills, California home. He died January 10, 1997 at age 89.

If you have not already done so, listen to this 1984 interview to get an idea of everything he has accomplished during his long career…truly a man of many talents. My personal favorites: His movie role in “Guys and Dolls”, and as the “Tout” on the Jack Benny show. It’s only too bad that Benny’s writers couldn’t have written longer sketches for Leonard, he was that hilarious.
