Clyde McCoy

Recorded May 03rd, 1972 - 20 min

His mid-thirties recording of “Sugar Blues” proved so popular that it became the theme song for his band as they performed one night stands and other limited engagements from coast-to-coast throughout the big band era. He was born December 29, 1903 and was 68 when we spoke during an engagement at “Flaming Sally’s” in the Sheraton-Blackstone Hotel in Chicago. He died June 11, 1990 at age 86.
