Carmel Quinn

Irish singer and personality most often associated with Arthur Godfrey on both radio and TV. In 1955 she auditioned for Godfrey’s Talent Scouts program, won and was almost immediately hired to be one of the “Little Godfreys” on his weekday mornings and Wednesday night shows. She was born July 31, 1925 and was 63 when we spoke at the Museum of Broadcast Communications in Chicago. Carmel Quinn died at age 95 on March 6, 2021.

  2. Thank You. I certainly do remember Carmel Quinn. I even remember the Music Wagon. I had the oppertunity to meet Mal Belairs at thew radio studio on Mc Clurg ct about 1960. My Father was a patient at the Va. Research hospital. I phoned Mal Belairs from a phone booth at the hospical where I could look into the cafitera and the radio station. I told Mr Belairs that I was waiting while my father had a treatment and asked If I could come over and sit in the studio while he was broadcasting. Mr. Belairs was very gracious and invited me over. The producer met me at the enterance and too me up to sit in on the briadcast, It was a very interesting afternoon.
