Harry Von Zell

His broadcast career spanned the entire golden days of radio and he worked as announcer and straight man for Fred Allen, Eddie Cantor, Dinah Shore and Al Jolson.  He was born July 11, 1906 and was 68 at the time of our conversation when he told the story of how he was responsible for one of the most famous radio “bloopers” of all time. He died November 21, 1981 at age 75.
