PLEASE STAND BY – A History of Radio (1987) Lesson 7: Growing Pains, showing how advertisers, who had not warmed to the small, individual groups of radio listeners scattered around the country, found new interest in the medium when networks made available audiences that stretches from coast to coast. With the emergence of networks, the struggling radio industry began to prosper.
