ACADEMY AWARDS (1945) From Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, Bob Hope em­cees the 17th annual Academy Awards cer­emonies. The broadcast includes Hope’s mono­log, awards for Best Song, Best Director, Best Picture, Best supporting Actor and Actress, Best Actor and Actress. BOB HOPE SHOW (1952) Guest Jack Benny joins Bob and Margaret Whiting, Les Brown and his Band of Renown, announcer Bill Good­win, and Veola Vonn. Margaret sings “Why Don’t You Believe Me.” Jack takes Bing Crosby’s part in a dramatization of the “Road to Bali.” AFRS rebroadcast. (22:53)

SCREEN DIRECTORS PLAYHOUSE (3-3-50) “The Paleface” starring Bob Hope and Jane Russell who repeat their original screen roles in the radio version of their 1948 Paramount film. Hope is Painless Peter Potter, a dentist in the rootin’, tootin’, shootin’ Old West with Jane as sharpshooting Calamity Jane. Bob sings “Buttons and Bows,” the Oscar-winning song from the picture.
