GI JOURNAL (1944) George Burns and Gracie Allen are co-editors of this radio “magazine” for listeners to the Armed Forces Radio Service.  Guests are Robert Young, the Ginger Snaps, Ginny Simms and features Mel Blanc as Pvt. Sad Sack.  Gracie tries to get Robert Young to date her friend, Beverly Fudnick.

MAIL CALL (1940s) Dinah Shore is mistress of ceremonies, with announcer Harry Von Zell.  This program features guests Nat King Cole, Borah Minevich and the Harmonica Rascals, Dorothy Lamour, Art Tatum, Les Paul, Danny Kaye, Jack Benny and movie producer Mark Hellinger. In a sketch, producer Hellinger is going to do the “Life of Jack Benny” with Danny Kaye as Jack and Jack playing his own father.

V-J DAY PROGRAM (9-2-45) Bing Crosby hosts, with Dinah Shore, cartoonist Bill Mauldin, Bob Hope, Frank Sinatra, Frances Langford, Orson Welles and President Harry S Truman. Meredith Willson and the Armed Forces Radio orchestra.

COMMAND PERFORMANCE, USA (1945) A program broadcast on Army Day in 1945, shortly after the war had ended. Bob Hope is emcee with Dinah Shore, Bette Davis, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, the Andrews Sisters, and General Dwight D. Eisenhower.
